What counts in making a happy relationship is not so much how compatible you are, but how you deal with incompatibility.”

Connected To God: Naturally Birthed

January 28, 2013 Daria Brezinski, PhD 0
Infants are close to divinity. That soft spot, hole or anterior fontanelle at the top of their little heads, which eventually closes, is the sign that the umbilical cord that connects the be-ing to the other side is closing. Many years ago, worried clients had an intercom placed in the new babies' room because Beth, their 3-year-old daughter, would constantly go visit her newborn brother. The parents’ overhead her conversations, which she addressed to her little brother proclaiming, "Please Read more [...]

Western Children are Spiritual or religious?

January 27, 2013 Daria Brezinski, PhD 0
Something that fascinates me is how people claim to be Spiritual but not religious associating Religion with the institution (prayer, dogma, rituals, edifices) and Spirituality with everything else. From my view, RELIGION abounds in the US with something other than attending churches and synagogues. CAPITOLISM is a world religion. Individuals spend their money based on their beliefs with vigor, passion and zeal. People who travel in ‘spiritual’ circles seek classes, mediums, meditate, and speak Read more [...]

Teaching to the Small Voice Within

January 27, 2013 Daria Brezinski, PhD 0
I too have been speaking about the issue regarding ‘norms’ and 'deferring to higher authority' for years even to Congress. The very problem exists in the way we 'educate' our children. From the earliest stages, adults are the authority figures that children look to for spoon fed answers (instead of allowing them to discover), to intercede when problems arise (instead of teaching them mediation skills) and to inject themselves in every aspect of a child's life (control). There is no room in the Read more [...]

Common Sense or Lack

January 26, 2013 Daria Brezinski, PhD 0
The lack of common sense is rampant and has been for a long time. The notion is that logic prevails but logic is no longer dictated by morals, values, integrity, honesty, compassion, commitment even reality but rather scientific inquiry, manipulating results, financial abundance and fame- infamous and otherwise. However, the focus on the material, financial, physical, intellectual leaves an imbalance, gap, void in the mystical, magical, emotional, spiritual, intangible qualities of life. In such Read more [...]

Boxes-A Poem We TRAVEL in boxes We WORK in boxes We SLEEP in boxes We EAT in and out of boxes We PLAY in boxes We LEARN in boxes We PURCHASE goods in boxes We receive GIFTS in boxes We CLASSIFY things in boxes by naming and categorizing them We WATCH and LISTEN to technology in boxes all day Even when we PLAY with a ball, it’s usually in a box IS IT ANY WONDER We can’t Think, Feel, See, Imagine or Believe Out-Of-The-Box? School Shooters & Their Drugs

November 20, 1986: Rod Matthews, 14, beat a classmate to death with a bat in the woods near his home in Canton, Mass. Though Rod was extremely bright, he was put on Ritalin when he was in third grade. September 26, 1988: 19 year-old James Wilson went on a shooting rampage at Greenwood elementary school in South Carolina. Two children were killed and nine others wounded. Wilson had been treated by a Greenwood psychiatrist since age 14, and given psychiatric drugs including Xanax, Valium, Vistaril, Read more [...]

The Why of Shooters

December 27, 2012 Daria Brezinski, PhD 0
The first safe and secure environment a child experiences is the sound from mother’s heartbeat in the womb. Neurophysiologists and psychologists emphasize that pregnancy to age 6 years old are the defining stages for modeling all forms of behavior. These patterns are the roots of all future responses, communications, drives and conduct. If the child has not lovingly bonded with the mother during these stages, anti-social neuroses, psychoses and pathologies take root. Boys need this bonding process Read more [...]
